Une Vie en Autorail

"A Life in Railcar(s)".  This new book is from the same publisher of the 5-volume encyclopedia on French railcars, but is a pictorial frolic around France with colour photos of railcars, some in stations, most in landscape, in the 1950s and 1960s.  The text is intended as a kind of nostalgic recollection of growing up in France and doing some travelling in that time, but captions with info on the photos are there too.

The photos are mostly of generous dimensions and work well. All the railcars are in the standard SNCF cream and red livery of the era, except for an XF 1113, type 36 (silver with orange front "whiskers") and a RGP in cream and light green.  Hardcover, 128 pages. Price in France is 29 Euros ($US 41).
