Fiat 500 police car

"You must be joking - how could they catch crims in one of those?" As its top speed was given as 95 km/h (59 mph) and it took over 13 seconds to reach that from zero, we wonder too.  The other question it raises - did the Italian police have any minimum height requirement?

I think they may have been nicknamed Bambinos, if so one such model was lifted in a street by three large gentlemen in Masterton after a neighbour dispute . The owner came out to find his car placed neatly on the bern millimetres between a powerpole and lamppost.
A forklift had to be hired to pull it out!

They were known in NZ as a Fiat "Bambina", whether that name was used elsewhere is in doubt.
