first generation British diesel multiple unit

A British Rail first generation diesel muliple unit, possibly a Class 108, approaches Grange Over Sands on the Cumbrian Coast in 1973. This scenic journey took in Morecambe Bay to the right, crossing two viaducts near Arnside and Ulverston. The train which likely began its journey at Preston or Lancaster would be heading to Barrow in Furness and possibly onwards to Carlisle via the coast service through Whitehaven.  (Wallace Trickett)
