the former Yarra Street Wharf, Geelong, Victoria, Australia

Geelong is on the same Port Phillip Bay that Melbourne is located and with the development of rail and road connections from Melbourne, the need for this wharf declined in the 20th century.  Derelict, the shed was destroyed by fire in October 1988 and remaining timber removed afterwards and reused by a local artist for the waterfront bollards art project.  There have been proposals for reestablishing the pier as a recreational facility.
