We gather yesterday was their last day, so to mark it here is the cover of the electrification opening booklet produced in 1938 with a two car set on the front (their original colour was described as royal blue with silver - this looks more like mauve).
If anyone has an item of NZR memorabilia like this, we would welcome details for our book on that subject planned for next year.
