Liegnitz main station, Poland

Although the site of this station, about half way between Gorlitz and Breslau in Silesia, dates from 1844, the present station was opened on 7 December 1929, an example of expressionist architecture. Noteworthy is the 46 metre high nave of the platform hall. Until 1945 Liegnitz was part of Germany, since then part of Poland, respelled Legnica.
