torpedo boats in Swinemünde, Germany, late 1920s

A postcard postmarked 1929 showing a sizeable fleet of torpedo boats in the east harbour of Swinemünde (since 1945 on the Polish side of the new German border and renamed Świnoujście, see earlier post). Torpedo boats were fast small warships, armed with torpedos, and were built and used from about 1880 to the end of WW2.
