wool truck at Cape Terawhiti, 1939

An early 1930s truck transporting bailed wool is seen on the basic coastal road (Oteranga Bay Road) at Cape Terawhiti on Wellington's extreme south-west.  The road is probably much the same in nature now as it was then.  Another photo that was considered for but not used in the book Welllington Transport Memories.

The location of this photo is on the road that ran from Terawhiti Station homestead (and woolshed) at Tongue Point, down to Karori Stream and South Makara Road (not Oterongo Bay road, Cape Terawhiti).
