passengers off to Seatoun Beach, 1913

At least 1913 is the date given although the destination board in the opposite direction states "Government Station" which as from 1909 was known as Lambton Station, after the Government bought out the private enterprise Wellington and Manawatu Railway.  Tram number 33 seen just after arriving at the Seatoun terminus.  For lots more, see the books Wellington Transport Memories. and Wellington a Capital Century.

No 33 was a single truck convertible saloon by JG Brill & Co.
This tram is palace car 55, probably by Rouse & Hurrell, seen in its original form before it was rebuilt as an end-loading single saloon. Slow loading in that form, it was rebuilt as a drop-centre entrance car to match the rest of the rebuilt palaces.
