The 'Rhodanien' train poster, France, 1971

With both the route and the timetable shown.  This was the beginning of the second era of the train's existence -- it  began in 1964 as an international Rapide linking Geneva, Switzerland with Marseilles.  The second era from 1971 to 1978 had it running as a domestic TEE train as shown.

The first era train consisted of SNCF Class X2770 diesel multiple unit railcars, in a two to five car formation, in each case with a power car at each end. These had previously been used on TEE trains.

The second era train was formed of SNCF Mistral 69-type DEV Inox (stainless steel) passenger cars, hauled by an SNCF 1.5 kV DC, Class CC 6500 electric locomotive. The fluted metal style of the inox passenger cars becomes the poster's feature.
