ferry from Frederikshavn, Denmark, to Goteborg, Sweden, poster

Depicting the ship Kronprinsessan Ingrid from 1936, now a 'botel' in Rijeka, Croatia. Data here.

"Quick and comfortable" -- well, 3 hours, 20 minutes, about the same as the ferry from Wellington to Picton.  These ferries are, or at least used to be, popular with those making duty free purchases of alcohol; a reader may know if the ferries go far enough outside EU territorial waters to be completely tax free still.

As well as 600 passengers, the ship could accommodate 40 cars, here a 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster.
